This morning I went for a mind-blowing run. Place de la Concorde stopped me in my tracks. I couldn't imagine the scale, the opulence, the splendour.
Afterwards I stopped for cappuccino and joined some Australian tourists at the only terrace table. Nice visit and comparing notes, then back home to the apartment.
Then we decided that the weather was okay for a hike to Tour Eiffel. According to Cassandra's pedometer, 10,000 steps and 8.5 hours later, we found our way home.
The girls really wanted to climb as much as possible on foot at the Eiffel Tower. It was amazing and my quads are burning after 54 flights of stairs. We had a picnic of champagne and M&Ms at the summit of the Tower.
Our long trek back to the Rue St. Marc apartment had to include a stop for a late dinner. Our waiter Césare was the first recipient of a medicine pouch. He is moving to Montreal as soon as he sells his flat because it is too expensive to live in Paris. He also scored a set of Canadian coins and our email address in case he ever finds himself Island-bound...
My legs our burning, but boy was it worth it. I hope the girls can function tomorrow.

Sounds like an awsome work out,Yana, as well as an awsome view. (I think I would only be good for about four flights). I look forward to seeing the pictures in person. Hopefully those girls will be rested for their next adventure.
ReplyDeleteWow! That sounds like a crazy adventure! I don't think I would have made it up 54 flights of stairs...hope the girls were feeling ok today and tomorrow too!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome to be able to check out what you are all up to. Hi and hugs to everyone!
