Borghese Garden

In the Borghese Garden, there were lots of plants, fountains, and restaurants. The plants look like summer plants. We even saw a tree with apricots along the street. I think the apricots were even ripe. It would be awesome to try them, but we couldn't reach them. There were different types of plants like ferns, palm trees, oak trees, and italian pine. There were hundreds of Italian Pine. An Italian Pine is like a Canadian Pine tree - it has sharp needles and it is an evergreen, but they are different from Canadian pine because they are 60 feet tall and instead of a closed umbrella shape, they look like open umbrellas. Also, they cut off the lower branches as it grows. Maybe they don't want people to get hurt by the needles or climbing.
The Fountains were small but they had big ponds around them. There were one or two ducks in each pond. The water in the fountains was very calm. The water in the ponds is very dirty. You cannot touch the water. There were fallen leaves, plastic water bottles, containers, wrappers, and napkins. That is very disrespectful and rude to the park and the Roman people. They had little areas to sit. I drew there. My drawing was the best one I had done because I was calm and not rushing. I realized that drawing helps me get calm.
There different kind of restaurants. Some restaurants were rich and fancy. The rich and fancy restraints had waiters and welcome people dressed all pretty and the food was overpriced. Other restaurants were smaller and not as fancy. They still had quality food but not as expensive. We ate at a place called PicNic, and they had great burgers, hot dogs, and fries. Actually, the fries were fresh, deep-fried chips. I enjoyed the food. There were also other restaurants like cafes and street vendors that sold gelato, chips, and other snacks.
I really enjoyed my visit to Borghese Garden on our last day in Rome and Italy. Tomorrow... off to Paris!
