- Make a list of what you have and before you leave where you are staying, and make sure you have everything on that list.
- Put everything in the same place so you can see everything all together.
- Check that you have everything in your bag.
- Make sure you don't put anything where you cannot see it or reach it. I thi that I might have left my scarf up in a cubby at a hotel in Rome.
- for Important stuff like passports, money, electronics, or breakables keep them in a lock box in the hotel room. For example, I had my iPod in the water bottle pocket where anyone one could just take it and I wouldn't even notice. Luckily mom stopped me and put it in her front pack.
- Don't bring anything. You don't need because it wastes space and you will forget it.
- Check your room or apartment carefully before you check out and look in all the nooks and crannies.

- My grandma also suggests that you have a place for each item in your bag and make sure you put things there.
- if you do lose something, the check over all you bags and clothing. Something might be wrapped in clothing.
- don't panic because it is just a thing and you shouldn't let it ruin your travels. Just don't lose you children. That is a big deal.
You never know, sometimes it turns out that you FIND the missing thing like my rain jacket was actually in mom's front pack. Maybe I will still find Laurie's scarf. Or maybe Franco will sell it at his yard sale...
